The duo of nineteen year old twin brothers Max & Sam demonstrates an uncanny gift for creating smart, appealing songs that grab a listeners attention and refuse to let it go. With a just completed ten track album, overseen by producer Russ Regan (Elton John, Neil Diamond, Barry White) and helmed by producers Justin Gray (Joss Stone) and Mike Krompass (David Archuleta, Nelly Furtado), the June Junes music delivers thoughtful, engaging original pop that serves as an irresistible introduction for the duo and proclaims the arrival of a powerful new force on the world's music scene. Pre-release reaction has been positive--two of the new songs are featured on the soundtrack of romantic comedy When Harry Tries to Marry.
The June Junes are high energy, ebulliently cheerful, and as dynamic in their fashion sense as they are musically, Max and Sam's potential is as limitless as their undeniable charm. Born fraternal twins on June 23 in Monterrey, Mexico, the pair were raised in Texas and displayed a love for music early in life--climbing onto an uncle's drum kit and banging away when they were just infants. By the age of ten, both had taken up the guitar and were soon writing and singing their own songs, a process enhanced further by Max's skill as pianist. Re-locating to Los Angeles at age fourteen, the bi-lingual twosome's pursuit of pop perfection seriously bloomed, and as they matured, Max and Sam entered a fertile season of growth, exploring and sharpening their lyrics and melodies in an extraordinary burst of creativity, one advanced by their wise-blooded sibling bond. With the added advantage of that multi-cultural background (both speak Spanish fluently) and lifelong exposure to classic pop and rock & roll, Max and Sam's work exhibits a striking artistic depth and breadth that is equal parts pure instinct and astute craftsmanship.
With a series of successful bookings at such Southern California landmarks as Magic Mountain (long a break out showcase spot for rising talent), the Knitting Factory, Santa Barbara's Velvet Jones and world famous West Hollywood club the Troubadour, Max and Sam's professional profile is steadily rising. Most recently the band spent the summer touring Mexico and were headlined to play the Telmex center along with Grammy Award Winner Calle 13, Reik, and Gloria Trevi. The brothers are continually making creative strides, crafting songs as sincere as they are satisfying, and each is a vivid, genuine example of their remarkable talent and phenomenal potential. The June Junes on-going musical journey promises to be an exciting one.
